  1. I hadn’t worn Brooks running shoes (trail or road) before, but I knew as soon as I tried the Ghost 10s on that these were my new pavement companions. This rarely happens for me, as my feet are often too wide at the front / narrow at the back / shallow on top (or a combination) to get a perfect fit straight away. When I put these on, I don’t really know they’re there.

I also don’t feel the impact of running on pavement, so the cushioning is definitely doing its job. I’ve run 10-20k regularly in these with no issue.

Equally, they feel responsive but not too soft. I would challenge the use of the word ‘plush’ – they are very comfortable, but plush conjures up in my mind something overly soft and wallowy. The Women’s Ghost 10s are certainly not wallowy. They have that rare quality of being snug but not feeling tight, padded but not too soft, and lightweight yet cushioned to run on.

  2. Regardless of where in the mountains I wore them, my feet felt great in them, and even on wet days they stayed warm and dry – one of the keys to happiness and comfort on the mountains. See my video review in this article, above and visit https://www.trailandkale.com/gear/s-lab-xa-alpine/ for my more detailed review.

  3. This headtorch got me comfortably through the night during the Lavaredo Ultra Trail. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone (trail runner or otherwise) who wants a reliable, comfortable and high quality torch for their nocturnal adventures. For a more detailed review, read my review at Trail & Kale: https://www.trailandkale.com/running/petzl-reactik-headtorch-review/

  4. I’ve been wearing this race vest on all my long runs and races! One of the best hydration packs out there for women, in my opinion. Pros and cons:
    PROS:
    Plenty of zipped pockets
    Adjustable ‘cinching’ mechanism
    Customisable fit around your bust
    Great pole storage set-up
    Nice colour options
    Good value for money
    CONS:
A bit much fabric on the neck (although I don’t notice it as much as when the vest was new)
Lacking phone pocket up front when using two bottles

  5. I have a couple of these Buff headbands (and loads of Buffs), can’t get enough of them. These are great for keeping my bangs out of my eyes and stopping sweat getting in them while on a run or in the gym. Love the color/design options.

  6. I have these in the Black and Pink. Firstly, they look awesome. Secondly, and most importantly, they are super-comfortable, and lightweight, just like my Brooks Ghost 10s, which I have just retired after doing many miles in. A great neutral road running shoe.

  7. Since discovering these soft flasks I never run with a hard water bottle. These are awesome because they don’t really slosh, are easy to drink from, and compress down when empty.

  8. I love my soft cup, and use it for all running races, whether they’re ‘cupless’ races or not, I hate to see so much disposable waste. This cup stuffs into a pocket when not in use, or you can clip it to your race vest using the loop (I thread it through a clip then tuck it in with a bungee cord on the vest, so it doesn’t flap about).

  9. Great because they don’t slosh and compress when empty. Designed to fit in the race vests including the Ultra Vesta 4.0 (which I use), it can be a squeeze when the bottle’s full, but they do fit. Wider neck than the Salomon soft flasks, although the drinking nozzle only works when bitten from one angle.

  10. I love the activity tracker and included apps like ‘breathe’. Siri is handy on the watch, too (if my iPhone is in close range). I never see texts or what’s apps on my phone because it’s always on silent or in my bag, the watch haptics ‘ping’ me when I have a notification, and it’s great that you can choose what you want to be notified for, so it’s only doing it for stuff you actually want to know about immediately, not things that can wait until you next look at your phone.

  11. Super cushioning and support
    Great for wider feet
    Unique and innovative design
    Suitable for long road runs

  12. Pros:

    Super bright
    Long battery life
    Versatile wearing options
    Great alternative to headlamps
    Multiple battery upgrade options

    Cons:

    More expensive than regular headlamps
